Thanks to All - Special Thanks to Cubefx & Evilution!

All -

My SMART had its audio phoenix rise from the ashes of a Radio 9 today, and thanks to you all, it now has an awesome sound at a reasonable price.

Special Thanks to Cubefx for uncovering a gem of a head unit in the Panasonic, it has everything I wanted (iPod, Bluetooth, great sound) at a great price and as the previous pics show, looks at home in the SMART.

To Evilution for the awesome install guides which helped my installer get this done quickly and cleanly.

And to everybody who ravved about the Polk db651's. Did not even know they were in the car audio business and let me tell you I am amazed at the sound of these puppies.

So i must say I am VERY impresses at the quality of my under $400 (parts only) system when compared to my JBL premium system in the Prius.

Thanks all, also got the tach/clock installed at the same time (got an orphan so I took what I could get) and so I am thinking an exhaust for a little more power and I am done!

These are the people dancing to the music from my SMART as I drive by...

PS - Free radio 9 and factory speakers to those who would like them, just split shipping with me. Shoot me a PM if interested..

Hi,

Who was your installer? I'd like to use them. I'd also like to see (hear) your system. Are you going to go to either the Works track event or the Lombard photo shoot? If not, I'd like to arrange a time/place.

I'm on the Peninsula. Shoot me a PM.

For those with a Pure, are you guys/gals paying attention?

you can never compare a fact prem. system to any aftermarket system. there are very few cars that i have see that the stock prem. system is worth it. its just another waste of money.

What Panasonic head unit did Cubefx recommend?

Hello jmcummings,
My apologies if my searches failed to turn up info that you have already posted. I was hoping to see a pic of your install, and find out what Panasonic head unit you decided upon after the recommendation from Cubefx. I have a Pure (and simple), and thought about sending you some money for your extricated Radio9, but I have already bought the dash kit and harness from 4smartcars.com . I don't really want a double-din unit, so if you've got a "smart" looking Panasonic with all parts under $400, that sounds like it'll fit my needs. You mentioned it has Bluetooth and iPod, but what about satellite?
Thanks in advance for the info - still under 200mi on our pure, so very new at this.

One more post so that I can PM Mr JMCummings and CubeFX to get a response to post above.
