Here's an enclosure I built for a 10" (the sub pictured was swapped for a ALPINE Type R) There is no obstruction to the feet air vents or removal of the battery or foam. With 2 channels bridged of an ALPINE PDX-4.150 this hits hard. I would say overkill for most people but I like it load and wanted to see if I could fit the 10" under there. A 8" would be just fine and a little easier to build a box.

I put the Polk651's in the doors and now seem to have lost my underseat sub. No more lowend sound from it. I even put my hand on it to see if it was still working. It is.So now I am looking to upgrade the sub. I was reading about the Boss Bass-600 to strap on behind the seats or an underdash unit.I would like to hear some comparos from everyone and if the underdash sounds the best, who sells the enclosure? I really don't know much about installing speakers and wiring them up so the easier the better.

No one is currently making and selling a case just for the smart under dash locations. Your local audio shop should be able to take measurements and make a good fiber glass (or wood) case for you.

I took my smart to an audio shop and the installer said it wouldn't be a problem to make a case. I'm getting an 8" Rockford Fosgate sub with an MTX Audio amp installed tomorrow. Can't wait to hear it...

I have the Pioneer P800BT, Boss 600 behind the drivers seat, and the Polk 6501's with the tweeters mounted on the AC vents. Crossovers and Sub control knob is mounted in the glove box. It has awesome sound and plenty of Bass unless you want to rattle others windows!

Hey,
Just my two cents.
You might run in to the problem in the winter time. Hot air in the went might melt your tweeters. And there is a lot of places in smart other then glove box to hide your crossovers.

Can I see the Boss unit and how hard was it to install? I have the upgraded speaker package from smart and I am hoping to just grab the wires from the factory woofer to use on the boss. Did you do this or did you wire it up from scratch? Also, What is mounted on the verical mirror trim piece? It looks like a tweeter.

The thing on the triangle mirror piece you think is a tweeter is the knob to adjust the mirror i believe. I'm assuming that because he also has a window crank, there for a pure. This would explain it....

I ran new wires for the sub and just installed the Boss with the supplied Velcro. Mirror trim is the knob to adust the mirrors.

I wanted to be able to access them for adjustment and I am not one to keep anything else in the glovebox.

If the tweeters can stand the heat of a Texas interior they will be fine with the air temp that flows through the vents! It does not melt my hand if I hold it in front so I am sure it wount melt the tweets that are designed to handle the interior of a hot car.
