If the tweeters can stand the heat of a Texas interior they will be fine with the air temp that flows through the vents! It does not melt my hand if I hold it in front so I am sure it wount melt the tweets that are designed to handle the interior of a hot car.

I might be wrong, but I do have LED lights in my PT Cruiser installed inside of my AC vents for the past four years (nice red glow from inside), and because I`m in Florida I do not use heat very often, but the last time I opened my dash I noticed that plastic holders for LEDs are melted, they still works, but......
Again it is just my opinion but I would think that heat will change tweeter acoustic characteristic. I do not think they designed to be heated from inside.

This is my opinion and I might be wrong. I've been wrong before.

The vents are plastic they dont melt, the speakers are designed to be on a dashboard in the summer sun. Try this, run you heater and place your hand on top of the vent. Is it "hot"? Is the plastic vent softening? I bet the air running from your heater is less than 100 degrees. I know the heat 1/8th of an inch away is 120+ in the summer.

I am not worried, if it is a problem I can order two new vents and a couple of tweets and move them to the a pillars.

Installation was a lot easier that the a-pillars.

If the plastic from the air vent was melting, then we'd have a problem.

ya, simple and cheaper is what I am looking for. If I paid $500.00 for a sub and housing I'd be sleeping outside for a while! I want it under the dash so peepers don't see anything but stock. I am painting the silver grills on my Polk's red to blend into the interior and keeping the stock radio10 for insurance purposes. Anyone from Chicago here? Do you know of any installers for a sub? Abt charges $100.00/ hr and wanted $500.00 to do the door speakers alone! I did them from less than $100.00. Freelance installers anyone? Bueller?
