Folks, based on a bad purchasing experience with 4smartcar.com I cannot recommend that anyone seriously consider doing business with them. If you have options for comparable product and price it might well be worth your effort to give consideration to another vendor.

smart madness has a great box and you can put your own sub in like I had to anyway since the sub that came from 4smartcar was junk.

I've seen a number of people mention the "boss bass 600" that they are mounting behind the driver seat, but despite several requests, nobody has commented on how they like it.

How does it sound???

Would you buy it all over again, or go for the underdash setup instead?

what do you want to get out of it???? are you hooking it up to the stock radio. if so then you will be happy. are you the type to get rid of all the stock audio. if so then that sucks. it all depends on what kind of sound you want. i have made a under dash sub box and everybody was happy. as far as the buying it online. well read the forms. its up to you. if you find a good installer in your area and the price is right go for it. you drive the car every day. get what you like and will enjoy.

Seriously, to try placements, I tried putting a bazooka in back, in the middle of the car on the seat, and in the front near the dash, and the sound from the front sounds the best, while sitting in the driver's seat. Bass from the back is too boomy!! It has all mid-bass boominess, and no looooow bass! Sounds terrible actually. But with the under-dash placement, I hear all the available frequencies from my JL, and it sounds the best there.

Now if I can only figure out how to compensate for the hard-plastic interior adding to the mid-highs. Anyone tried carpeting the doors to knock down the reflections? ;)
