Looking forward to a DIY and parts list from Cube... that setup is awesome and exactly what I want to do. USB for the ipod, and power for the laptop. I just wish they had put a laptop tray on the back of the seat like all of my other cars have had.

I'm assuming you have the entryline radio, 2011+ models only. The iPod is not directly compatible with the usb input. It will only charge through that port, and *some* versions of the iPod will play music in a file format that is not meant for a human to understand.

The best way is to use the 3.5mm port and control your iPod music from the iPod itself.

The usb input is designed for mp3 files installed on a thumb drive or other hard drive. In other words, all the music files you placed on your iPod should be copied onto usb thumb drives as mp3 files. You can create folders and have song lists and you will then be able to browse your music collection directly from your entryline radio.

That's pretty cool. I use a thumb drive or USB HDD on my aftermarket HU. What you talk about wasn't possible on the original Radio 10 to my knowledge. Although, the ability to play six mp3 CDs made for a pretty extensive online catalog.

I've always thought the glove box USB mod of this thread was a great idea. My Kenwood HU has USB input, from a rear panel port. So this would be great. Like the power inverter too.

The new entryline radio doesn't include CD anymore. There's a little drawer that slides out where the radio sits so it's kind of like a single din auto player with a tiny little pull out shelf. Holds coins, and definitely can hold lots of usb thumb drives for music purposes.

The head unit will remove the itch of many people to switch to an aftermarket unit. This one plays mp3 files from any audio player through the 3.5mm and additional usb slot, and it's actually easier to load songs onto a thumb drive than it is an ipod because you don't have to have iTunes getting in the way and all the iTunes updates. Just load the audio files in folders and put on a thumb drive and plug it in.

Plug a cable into the 3.5mm port of your iPod then the other end of the cable into the 3.5mm aux jack of the entryline radio. Switch your factory radio to the "AUX" input (use the MEDIA button) and voila! Play the music on your iPod and control the music from the iPod.

Try Radio Shack for the cable.
