Want to install rear speakers

I would like to install rear speakers that would be compatible with the stock speakers for the radio 10. I'm not too interested in having quality that will out do the stock door speakers. Just want some sound behind these 58 year old ears. I don't see how speakers could be mounted without some type of molded box. I was thinking in the upper side walls to the rear and back of the rear seat belt. What size speakers should I install? Also... I am OK with the simple speaker grill for the door speakers and would like the same type of grill for the rear speakers. Any suggestions are appreciated.

They're going to want to know ... coupe or cabrio?

I have a cabrio, seems I'm out of luck with regard to rear speakers.

I think my transistor radio circa 1960 had a better speaker than the OE door speakers.

I'd upgrade the doors speaks and see if that helps... and then match those same speakers if you do install in the rear.

Definitely ditch the stock door speakers.

look into 4x6 plate speakers.. if you insist on having sound coming from the back at least use something that is not absolute crap! Infinity and Polk make good ones that dont need a ton to amplify and yet have good dynamic sound... with that said though you are better of changing the door speakers as well and you will notice a great improvement... even is you dont amplify the door speakers.
