Wiring aftermarket amp / subwoofer to factory radio 10 / subwoofer

So,

I'm attempting to build a stealth system on the cheap. I'm set on keeping the factory head unit and the OEM speaker grills.

After extensive forum research, I've purchased the alpine sps-600 speakers for the doors, and will be installing them this weekend. From what I've read, they are the best bet for factory replacements, fitting behind the oem grills, and sensitive enough to run off the wimpy radio 10 wattage without an aftermarket amp.

I'm leaving the factory dash tweeters and subwoofer under the driver's seat alone.

This weekend I'll also be installing an alpine mrp-t220 2 channel amp that fits under the passenger seat...pushing about 175watts RMS in mono bridged. This will be put to the 4smartcar.com's under dash JL audio w-3 box and speaker.

My question pertains to the wiring of the sub's amp. Since this particular amp has speaker level inputs (and a crossover), should I just splice into the factory underseat subwoofers' wiring and run it under the carpet to the passenger seat? Or should I purchase in wire in a Line Output Converter...and if so, to what wires should i connect this LOC? Should I put it on the wires going to the factory underseat woofer? Or should I take the dash apart and put it in line with other wires?

May sound confusing....apologies if so. and thanks in advance for any help!

Nick

Why not take the feed from the plug that goes into the under seat "sub", and I use that term loosely.

good question about the signal for the under seat sub. as far as i know it is a full range signal. which means u can hook it up to an amp thru the high level input ( if the amp has it.) if not then you will need a line level converter. (it takes the high level signal and converts it to a low level signal. to hook rca's up) so i would advise getting a loc (line level converter) hooking it up the the front outputs on the fact. deck. you could grap the signal from the under seat sub.but if u want easy go behind the fact. radio. u can also grab the amp turn on back there to turn the amp u want to put in on and off. after reading the first post, the signal going to the under seat sub are coming off the front speakers. i hope this answers your question.

Just called my dealer to see how much a radio 10 is from them after the fact( not installed at the factory)-$1047.00!!!!!!!!!!! and $220.00 for the factory sub!!!!!!!!!!!
Have you figured this out yet? I think I am just going to change the head unit and sell off the factory sub and radio 10 because my name finally came up for off-street secured parking.
