Hitch height

I am thinking of doing the custom hitch outlined here rather than the E-trailer hitch. I am concerned about the hight of the hitch being too low to the ground.

My reciever is 15" off the pavement and the hitch adds another inch. This trailer has tounge wt. of about 60#.

I need the same hight for my trailer. Did you use the 2 inch or 1 1/4 ? also, How and what did you use to hook up the lights?
