Mini Camping Trailer?

Here is a site with plans for a mini camping trailer. It looks small enough to be towed by a Fortwo. Here is the gallery section of the site.

It looks pretty nice. Is it small enough for a Smart car?

The pictures are tiny so if you like the idea you'll spend $19.95 to buy his guide to then realize you just wasted $20. I smell snake oil.

I'm giving the A-Liner Alite some serious thought for later on. Not as tall as the teardrop though there is some setup time involved there is less wind resistance while pulling due to it's low profile. The hard sides seem to give the wife piece of mind since she is phobic of all those knife wielding crazed psychopaths that roam the campgrounds stabbing people in the head through the fabric of their pop-up campers. I'm sure you've heard about them because she has always had us shy away from canvas popups for that very reason .

Second choice is still the Littleguy Rascal. I love that too.

A mini teardrop camper might be better.

Here is a Little Guy teardrop trailer; Rascal and Travel Mate.

you're too funny!

I looked at those A-Liners, but for 7k you're really just getting a bed on wheels. And by the time you pack along all the gear you need for a weekend, poor little smartie will really be suffering.

The teardrops, tho adorable are out because there's not even enough interior space to get dressed.

I'll keep looking for the best weekend solution for smart getaways, but so far it's a B&B or motel.

I've seen nice used for around $3500-$4k for both the A-Liner and Rascal and even NEW ones for just slightly more around $5k. Still, a lot to pay for something so small. As far as getting dressed laying down, I'm quite used to getting dressed in compact areas but the wife isn't. For the most part - the motorhome has to go first before we consider it.

Here is a guide to ultralight weight trailers.
Here are some teardrop trailer plans. Perhaps some one could adapt one to have a pop up roof to give more head clearance?

Here is the Squidget.
