Wiloran - Thanks!! I just got off the phone with Roadmaster and they still don't have a clue about the brake light wiring. They did say they were getting another smart into the shop tomorrow and maybe they will figure something out. I will pass onto them your info. I know Hitch Pro and Tow, my neighbor has been hammering me about why I went all the way to Portland!

Ok! Here is what I have as of this morning. Smart center Portland called advising the SRS warning I had 5/5 after leaving the Roadmaster factory, was an air bag sensor that Roadmaster did not connect properly when reassembling the front end of the smart. Therefore, PAG will not cover the tow to Portland because the fault was not a warranty issue $920, nor will they cover the shop time, ~1 hour @ $92/hr; to diagnose and repair at smart center Portland. I am waiting on a call from Roadmaster to see how we are going to deal with this issue.

Smart center Portland's service manager, Bryce, called and my smart is ready to come home. Called Roadmaster and talked with installation manager Jerry Miller who put me in contact with his installation lead, Colin. They did disconnect the air bag sensor and turn on the ignition. This logged the SRS error code into the ECU. Roadmaster is arranging to get my car from the dealer in Portland, complete the brake/tail light wiring and deliver it back to me. Colin also stated he would have to explain to management that they owed me $1012. I'm very happy at this point that these issues are being resolved without any extreme heartburn.

I'm glad to hear that everything is working out. Be sure to let us know when your hitch is set up.

If Anyone Had To Vote On The Make / Model Tow Bar Set-up What Would You Vote. And Hearing The Stories I Think I Will By-pass The Car Light Use. Thanks For You Opinions

Roadmaster picked up my smart from smart center Portland and advised this AM they have gotten the problem fixed. Seems they didn't have the smartie in "TOW" mode when wiring which put all the cars Auto lighting features into play. Still don't know how they will re-pay the cost of the tow and dealer visit to reset the ECU. At least I'm smiling, kinda?

OK...One, the car is new and anyone not familiar with the smart is going to have trouble, however; not as much trouble as I had. Two, Any reputable Tow and Hitch installation house can do the work, I would recommend Campingworld. Three, Dealer Kits for the wiring and brackets from Roadmaster are not available yet, this is why I took my car to the factory in Portland, Or. Wiloran may be able to comment on Blue Ox. I have chosen Roadmaster because I have their Sterling tow bar. My VW Beetle had Roadmaster brackets which hid in the fog light rings and were nearly invisible as are those on my smart. Hope this helps!!
