Towing a trailer?

What kind of problems has anyone experienced towing a trailer? My 8 foot long 6 foot wide seems to tow fine. I haven't loaded it heavy or traveled far. With no temp gauge I would worry on a long trip not being able to watch the temp when going up hill. If anyone has any experience I would like to hear from them. Thanks, kingcc

These lil guys were not designed to tow trailers, but a small light one will probably be OK. just watch the load weight.

A Scangauge II will help you keep an eye on engine temp and many other things

As was mentioned earlier, a Scangauge is an awesome tool for soooo much more than just an accurate temperature.

6'x8' trailer but do you know the weight of it? The one pictured below is 8'x12' and I don't go far at all with it. Most I did was about 70 miles round trip one time to deliver a mattress. I haven't had any problems towing with it but like I said, it was just once that distance. A few other times when we dropped the trailer off someplace else locally and needed to grab the trailer and get it back to the place where I store it.

My regular use trailer is smaller. Just for groceries and some other special items that I carry in there. No pictures yet, not for another month and a half.

I have been pulling my little trailer (harbor freight w/sears xcargo car top carrier) from South Carolina (Columbia) to Norfolk - no problems at all. I have since built a stake-side set of rails for it (will be taking that to the Dragon event at the end of September). No sweat at all pulling it.

One thing I learned that was helpful from my scanguage while towing. I assumed the engine would run cooler with the A/C off. Wrong... The engine runs cooler with the A/C on as the extra cooling fans kick in. Just something I wouldn't have guessed.
