Thanks, but a little pricey at $2000 just for the trailer. I have to get something a little less high tech in the $800-$1200 range.

Well, of course I meant when you're backing down the driveway or reversing out of the ditch you.... yeah, you're correct. Although, if something hits the filter from the front the car isn't going much farther once the same thing hits the trailer hitch.

If one were to hear something hitting the tow bar, it'll be an alarm to stop and check the filter immediately, before the engine drains out of oil, maybe and possibly avoiding major damages.

Center exhaust AND a hitch . . . OUCH!?!?!

You might physically be able to fit a center exhaust AND a hitch?

But, from what I can see, the HOT exhaust will be coming OUT directly AT the HITCH?
If you don't have heavy gloves, might be a trip to the ER?
OUCH!?!?!?!

With the hitch in that position it should be very easy to construct an oil filter guard that comes off of it.

I was thinking the same. Put a surround around the filter that is bolted to the hitch. My question would be in that set up, What would be the hight from the ground of the hitch ball using a standard extension
