My turbo smart is up for sale. I'm a little sadden, but, I just bought car number 5 for a family of three drivers. One car had to go....
Priced for a quick sale:
2008 smart Cabrio with 20,600 miles
Well cared for
Turbo added in June 2010
SFR headers
Schmidt 16" rims
Yokohama S-Drive 195's
Pioneer Navi with Bluetooth
Focal speakers
Carbon fiber print rollbar cover
Evil Twin Exhaust
H&R lowering springs
Scangauge
The turbo has lots and lots of extras, such as larger injectors, split sec box, intercooler, blow off valve, boost controller (set at 8 psi), PLX Devices Multi gauge showing the boost and the AFR.
I've described the build of the turbo in detail here and detailed the tuning of it here.
KBB has this car listed, used, for $10.5k. I'm asking $12k with all the extras.
The turbo makes the car a blast to drive. That said, you should be a bit of a gearhead to drive this car; there are occasional CEL lights as described in the tuning thread. This car will not pass smog in California.
I'll add photos later, but, there are photos on the threads I've linked to.

Here are a couple of Youtube clips describing my car..

A quick walk around. Notice the carbon fiber print roll bar cover and windscreen, too. The Pioneer head unit doubles as an in-dash GPS, as well as a handsfree bluetooth, if your phone is compatible. Works with my Samsung Droid Charge very well. The Pioneer has the HD Radio module, but I usually just listen the the SD Drive, or, there is also a USB drive mounted in the glove box. You can watch movies using the USB or the SD, if you really want. I did it once, but frankly, I have a better home theater at home if I want to watch something. The audio system is frankly stunning.

Forgot to mention that one of the cables shown in the first video also serves as the datalogging of the PLX Devices boost/AFR gauge. That's desribed in the above video.

A quick drive. The purpose of this video is to show I'm not running any CEL's, although I do pop a CEL about once a tank as described in this tuning thread. Another purpose was to show the boost gauge and AFR gauge in action. Unfortunately, the gauge flickers like CRAZY in the video - my camera catches the flicker, but the human eye does not. Sorry it isn't clearer! My son is running as cameraman, and you can see when he zooms in that we're running 12 to 13% AFR under boost. You can also see at the end of the clip when I let off the gas, as the car goes into fuel cut, the AFR pegs at 20.
Hello, everyone. I put my '08 turbo cabrio up for sale several weeks ago because I have a new BMW ActiveE coming my way. I had a couple of nibbles on the turbo smart, but noone showing me cash. I need to change that.
For awhile, it looked like I may not get one of the 700 ActiveE's being imported into the US, so, I didn't advertise the turbo smart anywhere except for this thread. I didn't want to sell the smart if I wasn't going to get the BMW. But as of yesterday, I was notified by BMW North America that they have a car for me. I take delivery in three weeks. I hope to have the smart sold by then.
I'm going to be putting up the car on eBay soon, but I wanted to bump this thread and let everyone know this is still for sale.
Plus, and this is the part I hope will help me sell it quickly, I'm offering $500 to anyone who introduces me to the eventual buyer.
As of Today, May 12, 2012, I'm asking $12k for the car. I will drop the price $500 per week until I get it sold. I currently have four cars and simply cannot accommodate a 5th car at my house. It makes me sad, but the BMW is my new toy, so the old toy (turbo smart) is the one that has to go.
Congrats! I still check in periodically to the forum even though I've sold my smart. Enjoy your new BMW! I am going to order a 2013 M3 to replace my smart.
