Been getting cut off in traffic...

Does anyone have this happen? I wonder if people think that since my car is so little that it can only go slow. Crazy. I had it happen twice on Thursday. I don't drive slowly - never have.

Love my lil' blu.

People drive nuts in Denver.... doesn't matter what you drive. I used to drive my Rodeo SUV in Denver and from the narrows to 470 I can remember almost getting killed more than once... I know they've rebuilt it but the on ramp from Apache used to be a nightmare.

I had a pickup tailgating me last night, headlights shining in my rearview mirror & all. It felt like he was in my back seat. Oh, wait . . . I don't have a back seat, so that's probably right where he was.

I tend to drive right around the speed limit. I guess he didn't like that. After a few minutes, he pulled around me & gunned it on a 35 mph bridge. A real idiot. I caught up to him at the end of the bridge.

Before I bought the car I imagined I might have an issue with it, but that turned out to not be the case. Any time that I've gotten cut off the one who did it had no qualms about cutting off everyone else on the road as well. I have yet to feel singled out.

At high speeds, low speeds, stop and go traffic, I've just felt like any other car on the road. Granted I know when to stick to the right lane- I don't go looking for trouble.

I had one do that last night, but my wife was driving the SUV. It doesn't usually matter what you're driving, but yes, the Smart gets bullied a bit more by the jerks who would bully anyone. There are type "A" personality people everywhere.

How's the Smart in Denver traffic? My city's pretty small and a 4.5 mile trip takes 20 mins with traffic, or 10 without. I used to live in Denver and remember there were some seriously stupid drivers. And the 25/225 interchange would creep along at 5mph for an hour during peak hours. I can't imagine that's good on the clutch.

Yep, seems that every impatient idiot that flies by me at 10-15 mph over the speed limit gets caught at the next stoplight. Then I pull right back up next to them.

...and then the light turns green and with a quick use of the paddles he's behind one more time...most people don't recognize the torque feature of the little guys..just too funny to see in the rear view mirror...

That you consider installing the Italian Air Horn on your smartie. I had the same problem getting cut off more than usual until I installed the horn. (and I normally am not a horn blower... )
Now when anyone even starts to cut me off, I scare the chit out of them with this awesomely LOUD horn. It gets there attention....
Got mine from Griot Auto Parts but they can be gotten other places. Reasonably priced at $39, too , as i recall.
