Colorado Fees - Dealer and state

Could someone who has picked up their car at smart center Denver give a breakdown of ALL tax, tag, dealer and title fees? I'm trying to figure the bottom line out the door on my Passion, which is due to arrive any day now. The biggest question is the state tag fee.

Here are my numbers, based on a smart passion coupe with minor options:

Price (including options and delivery):...............15,030
Dealership fee (smart center Denver):...................295
Tax (CO state only @ 2.9%):..............................444
Recording fee:.............................................. ......7
Less reservation fee:.........................................-99
Ownership tax (based on 14 months):...................281
License fee (including $50 for special plates):..........81

Neither my city nor county has a use tax, so I paid state sales tax only; you may have to adjust based on where you live. Ownership tax (collected when I got my tags) was based on 14 months: 2 months on the temporary dealer tags plus one whole year. The recording fee was collected by the dealership, but they included a check for the same amount in the packet they sent to the county clerk. Make sure they remember to deduct the original $99 reservation fee on your purchase order.

NICE! Driving a Smart even here in DENVER makes you a celebrity. I don't get it, I drive from court to court in the metro area all day and I simply do not see other Smart Cars.....where are you people??

Should we aim for a Colorado Meet N Greet this summer? Ideas?

The amount of attention these cars generate is crazy. It is like being a celebrity.

I live & work in Lakewood. I have personally seen 2 other Smarts around here. There is a red/black one & a silver/black cabrio.

I have a silver black passion with dark tinted windows. Wave if you see me.

How do I know what my reservation number is? I have an email with my res number but what are some of yours? I've gotten my email that my smartie is on it's way but that's all. Thanks!
