Trouble registering my Pure yesterday?!

Apparently, the Smart Pure was not on the official Colorado list of vehicles allowed to register?? They gave me my plates, but said they'll mail me my title if they 'figure it all out'. Otherwise, she said I'll have to go back to the dealer and tell them the Pure is not authorized to be sold in CO.

Surely others here have registered a Pure?

Passion was on the register-able list, but not Pure.

This has to be some sort of clerical error, doesn't it??

I would say. 'Pure' and 'Passion' are trim levels anyway - the model name is 'fortwo'. That would be like saying you can't register your Honda EX, but you can register your Honda LX and just dropping Civic, Accord or whatever.

I tried to tell them that, but she said since it quite clearly says model: Pure on the Bill of sale, that she had to find a match on her big list of cars.

I wonder why that list doesn't have fortwo on it??

Go back to the dealer and get a new bill of sale, without Pure listed.

My title lists my Pure as a passion. that is the only thing the computers would accept. Someday they will get it figured out I guess. The car guide at the bank doesn't list a value for any options either. They list the same price for a Pure as for a loaded cabrolet.

Kansas Title and registration, titles my car as a Smart Fortwo coupe. Not a body trim group. I looking at my sheet right now for taxes. $422.67 a year for personal property tax.

Thank you- I've been out of town and haven't quite dealt with it yet. I haven't gotten my title in the mail yet either. I'll call SmarCenter Denver tomorrow and ask if they have had any other troubles.
