Many of you probably saw the IIHS off-set crash test earlier this week. They did not do our car justice!

Please take the time to write a testimonial at safeandsmart.com. Our car has so much more to offer than what is represented by the IIHS and the media who grabbed on to the story!

Thanks for your continued loyalty and support.

The dear guys story is on there who has the yellow smart and the the blue smart that had the delivery truck slide into him on icy road. I can't remember any of their user names except they are on SCOA. It's kind of cool at least two SCOA members on the site.

What kind of stories have you been getting from the people returning their Smarts for body work?

We have fixed every car that has come in for collision repairs and none have been declared total losses to my knowledge. We recently had an incident where a Pontiac Grand Am t-boned a smartie. The Grand Am was declared a total loss, the smart car is getting $6000 in repairs.

In all instances our customers have been amazed at how their smarties have held up...no major injuries.

Our collision center (Kuni Collision Center) also works on the cars when the tridion cell is damaged. The mechanics have noted that the steel in the tridion cell appears to be sturdier than some luxury cars that they work on.

Sweet, that's great to know. Nobody will believe me when I tell them how safe the Smart is... they just say they can crush it with their truck.

What I'd really like to know is what exactly is the crush strength of the tridion from roof pressure? i.e. I know we can flip our cars and roll around like a wiffle ball, but will it stand up to, say, 3 tons of downward pressure? That will say a lot. I don't know of any trucks whose cabs can fully support their weight in a rollover.

Garage
Look for that to be a future crash test standard.

Roll over crush resistance will soon be a test the smart will shine in while other vehicles precived as safe will fail the test.
