Non Smart Remarks

What are the most outrageous questions you have been asked?

Usually I hear things like "How many miles per gallon do you get" or "Are you still enjoying your SmartCar?" or "Who makes that car", or some other informational question.

I have also heard some non-informational questions or non-logical questions. Recently, I was in Smith's parking lot when someone asked "What if you get in a wreck?" Like you get into your car and ask that question of yourself! Or if you ride a motorcycle, do you ask yourself that?

Today, I was asked "How much does it cost you to fill up?" which is a function of the size of your gas tank and has nothing to do with your gas mileage.

What have you heard?

All the normal Q's....but now I am getting the 'one ups'....after asking how many mpg your Smart gets...now their Honda CRV gets 55 mpg.....'you'd think a Smart would do better than my Honda' they say. Maybe the Smart has raised the MPG across the country just by being here!!!

OK, the other day a neighbor came over and said the following:

"Are you gonna keep that thing!"

"You know you make quite the impression driving that thing!"

Yup, I get all of the OP's questions as well.
People at my work heard about the recent crash tests though and they have a little more respect for the car now. Before, it was seen mainly as a toy.

I live in Little Rock and have actually known the Clintons for more than 20 years. Even saying what you said in jest, you should feel the urgent need to wash out your mouth by now. If not, you may be nonsmart.

Chased me down for information

Today I had a couple chase me all over town until I would look out my window. They asked to see my car. I followed them into a Smith's parking lot where they went crazy over the car. The husband said he had seen on of these cars and was interested, he would follow the next one he saw until he could stop the driver.

Anyone else experience this?

I had one lady follow all the way to the back of the supermarket to ask about the car.

I've been stopped by cops, before I had my permanent plates. I've been followed home, around parking lots and had questions yelled from moving cars.

My all time favorite happened while I was pumping gas at Costco, guy asks me, "Is that thing electric?" He was serious, I almost died laughing.

Yeah, all the typical questions. The one that got me is the time I was a Walmart and overherd a boy and his dad talking about my car when I was returning to it. The boy was very impressed, but the dad wondered if because the car was so little, if the radio was little too! I said, yeah, it's so little you can't even see it!
