Acceleration Runs at Heartland Park with our Benz Buddies

For a good time bring your Smart to Topeka's Heartland Park on July 23, for an evening of drag racing with your Benz Buddies during HPT's NHRA Drags - Street Legal Style

For just $20 ($10 for spectators) you can have the opportunity to drive your car on the professional NHRA track, the same one we're using for MBCA's Mid-America Caravan.

Your car must be in safe operating condition (a pre-run inspection is made by track officials), and if your car is capable of sub-14 second quarter mile times (LOL) you are required to wear a helmet. We will meet at the entrance on the east side of the track at 5 p.m. Inspections start at 5:30, and racing begins at 6:00 p.m. You don't need to be experienced nor does your car need to be fast. It's just fun to get out on the track and let it all hang out! This will get you some strip time in preparation for August's Mid-America Caravan hosted by our Kansas City Section of Mercedes-Benz Club of America! Hope to see you there!

We'll probably conclude the evening with BBQ at Boss Hawg's in South Topeka and share track stories with one another. So, bring your fortwos, your G-wagens and everything in-between, for an evening on the strip at HPT!

I'm too far to go but will be watching for results. Wonder if the original Heartland Park Smartie "ALSRAC" will show up.
I tried pulling fuse 11 to see if it made any difference. No difference in performance but it makes it easier to launch the car with a better reaction time, no need to hold the brake till the last moment, just stage and release the brake pedal, just step on the gas pedal and you go.
