Car cruise nights are perfect for a casual meating in KC...

OK as I stated last night I am posting a schedule of all the local car cruises that we as a group might meet up at.

Weekly Cruises:

The Sonic at 87th and Pflumm has a cruise every Wednesday night... I have not been to this one but it is an option.

The Longbranch at 91st and Metcalf has a cruise every Friday night. They give you a 10% discount on food with any drink purchased to the cruisers. I do this one every week and it is a good time. It seems that it is getting bigger and bigger as the weeks go by. Best times to show up and get a spot would be between 5:30 and 6:00. If you let me know you are coming I will save some spaces.

Monthly cruises:

The first Saturday of the month is a cruise at the Springhill Sonic... I have not been to this one but it is an option.

The second Saturday of the month is a cruise at the Winsted's at 103rd and Metcalf. This is primarily a Mustang cruise but it is open to anyone that wants to show their car. This is another one of the cruises that I frequent and it is always a positive crowd toward my little car. This one is best to get there before 6:00.

The third Saturday is also at the Winsted's at 103rd and Metcalf. This one is an all car cruise and again I frequent this one quite regularly as well. As the one above this is best to get there before 6:00.

The last Saturday of the month is a cruise in Belton MO. This is an all car cruise and is open to anyone wanting to show there car off. I too frequent this show and I think it is worth the drive. They shut down main street in the old part of Belton. This is one that you should get there about 4:00 to 5:00 in order to get a good spot. They have antique stores and various other shops open during the cruise.

Well with all of these going on I think that we should not have a problem getting together. Please if you plan to join me at any of these feel free. I will have to say that every once in a while I take my Lincoln but if I know you are coming I will be sure to be in my smart. If there is any question as to weather any of the venues are having there cruises give them a call to make sure. I know that sometimes the Belton show may very or they might add another cruise so you can verify all times and dates on the calender from there web site. Also because the Belton cruise is a bit of a drive, or people may not be sure how to get there, we can meet somewhere local and caravan down, thus also assuring that we all get to park together. Hi Andy,

This is a great idea, the "casual get together." I just wish they weren't all so far from the Northland! At least I'll be getting good gas mileage! By chance do you know if there is a cruise at either the Sonic at 72nd St. and North Oak in Gladstone or the Sonic in NKC?

There's more but you get the idea. I mention all this because there will also be at least one Smart there, too! I bet Gromit will get as much attention in the parking lot as a lot of the show cars do on the lawn!

I'm hoping to attend to shoot some pics. I just know that sooner or later us Smarties are going to cross paths!

Thanks so much for the schedules. I'm sure we will all cross paths some day. Our litt'l blue is going in for a stereo/nav system upgrade Friday through Sunday this weekend, so we won't be out and about, but we'll join in next weekend.

Thanks for the info. That is something that I am definitely going to have to attend. PM me and maybe we can meet there and have our own little showing in the parking lot. Maybe we can get close enough to the show that people will think we are participants.

Sorry, about most of the cruises being on the Kansas side, but those are around the area I frequent. I apologize too because I do not know of any around your area. I could do some checking with some of the other cruisers this weekend and get back with you.

I would say that if you are interested in finding a Sonic near you that has a cruise I would suggest calling around to the different Sonics in your area. I do know that quite a few of them are owned by individuals that own more then one; so their store may not have a cruise but they may know of store that does.

Sorry this is so late... Plans have changed as I have guests in from out of town who also wish to attend the concours. Thus we will be in a DUMB (as opposed to... well, you get it!) car.

If I see YOUR car I will come drool on it, but otherwise, I will be annoying people with my camera.

It was very nice meeting you last Friday night and I hope that we can do it again and maybe with more of us... this Friday there will be no cruise because of the holiday but I was planning on entering my smart in the parade in Stilwell. Hope to see more of all of you guys out there cruising and showing off.
