After having such a great time at the Strip on September 25th,
we decided
we're going again!!! on
October 16th!
If you've never done this, I've got to tell you,
IT'S A BLAST!!! Don't be intimidated by the size of your car, as we've seen everything there from a rail dragster to mini-vans, and yes, even a Smart fortwo! In my 4 cylinder C Class, I was able to outrun a Chevy Van with a 350 and Corvette transmission!
Our host for the evening, Doyle Comfort will carefully explain to you the delicate balance of car performance and driver reaction time that allows the slower cars to beat the faster ones!!!
For a good time bring your Benz & SMART to Topeka's Heartland Park on
October 16th, for an evening of drag racing with your Benz Buddies during HPT's Thursday Night Street Legal event.
For just $20 (same price for spectators) you can have the opportunity to drive your car on the professional NHRA track.
Your car must be in safe operating condition (a pre-run inspection is made by track officials), and if your car is capable of sub-14 second quarter mile times you are required to wear a helmet. That's about it, but you can check the website at

The group will meet at the entrance on the east side of the track at 5 p.m. Inspections start at 5:30, and racing begins at 6:00 p.m. You don't need to be experienced nor does your car need to be fast. It's just fun to get out on the track and let it all hang out!
After the fun, we'll meet-up at Pat's Pig for some of the best BBQ around, and share our stories from the track!
This will get you some strip time in preparation for next year's Mid-America Caravan hosted by our Kansas City Section of Mercedes-Benz Club of America!
