Awesome! If Andy comes through, we'll have the only canopy with a pool, bar, 96" plasma TV, NASCAR Simulator and free steaks. Look for the crowd; we should be easy to find.

Smartians,

As promised, Andy and I not only attended the KCI Cruise, we PARTICIPATED in it! We proudly displayed our Smarts to dozens and dozens of interested onlookers. I bet I let 30 people sit in Gromit. Andy had banners made proclaiming the existence of the MO-KAN Smart Car Club, and we hung one of them from our canopy. They look great!!

If we had been selling Smarts, we each would have sold 20 cars today! We were swamped with inquisitive onlookers. We were so busy responding to questions neither of us could do much wandering or photographing the other cars.

Sorry ALSRAC, the only exotic there was an old stripper named 'Bubbles.'

It is my gut feeling that we spoke to more people than any other displayer there. It was work, but it was fun!

I'll do my best to put up a few pics Sunday. Andy took some, too, and I bet HE will manage, even if I don't.

Oh, that reminds me: I got a call today from a friend who attended the annual Gladfest Parade here in Gladstone. He proclaimed that our Smart Car Club would have been the hit of the show, had we been in it. That's pretty nice! Maybe next year...

I just got home from work, too bad we missed this show, but I bet you guys represented the club very well, I'll be waiting for the pictures, did you take a picture of "Bubbles"? That's the kind of "exotics" I was talking about...

the show was great last night. ANDY and TERRY were the show men. looked good in front of the new banner and also the cars. it was a fun show. glad that we went. it will be nice when i get my car.

I can't believe how worn out I got from talking with people. Let there be no doubt about it: there is TREMENDOUS interest in the Smart Car!!!!!! We are in the right place at the right time with these cars. I wish all the folks with cars on order could get them immediately! But that same interest is 'clogging the delivery pipes.' Be patient, but get excited!

Don, got your ears on? Isn't there a BBQ coming up? I wish we had a website so we could post upcoming events for all to see.

In my spare time (HAHAHA HA HA HHAAA HA HAAHA HHA HA!!!!!) I'll get right on that...

Here's the deal
On October 18th there will be an Kansas City BBQ Society invitational BBQ contest held at the Fountains, a retirement community in Independence. If past contests are any indication some of the teams will be "world class" .

We would have to be there about 10:00 and we would be finished by 2:30 at the latest. Judges sign in at 10:30 but those who have never judged will require a briefing on what and how to judge. I suspect that somewhere between 5 and 10 could be judges, although they will try to include more if possible.

There is a place out in front of the facility where the cars could be displayed. But they would like to have the cars in the lot with the competing teams. I am also sure that if anyone was so inclined some of the residents would be thrilled with a ride (not mandatory)

The fountains is located at 2100 S Swope Dr, Independence, MO 64057. We could meet somewhere and caravan or all meet at the Fountains
