Mid-America Caravan Concours/Track Events open to smart!

Just a note to inform everyone that we're now accepting registrations for the Mid-America Caravan, a four day National MBCA Event hosted by the Kansas City Section. Headquartered at the Topeka Capitol Plaza Hotel, and track events at Heartland Park Topeka, this event is sure to be a pleaser! Mercedes-Benz Club of America has included smart vehicles in our concours and driving classifications, so we can all join in on the fun. We'd really like to see a great contingency of smart owners at the caravan. The Defensive Driving Education is a "must-do", and ask Al how it feels to get your fortwo on the dragstrip. A few of our members already participate in our events with their fortwos. You probably already know Shane and Clinton. Clinton took first place honors at our Oktoberfest concours last year. He and his daughter participated in our Autocross, too! Al joined us at the dragstrip last fall... We'd really like to see the smarts and Benzes spend more time together.

This national event in August will surely get some attention and press for MBCA, and ALL of the participants. There's a plan to have live artists capturing the car show and track days on canvass for our enjoyment. There should be a great turnout!

This event sounds great, we had a blast last fall at the dragstrip as Grownup said.
I have a question, it is a requirement to be there the 4 days??
We may be able to go but just on Sunday.

No, you don't have to be there for all four days. As a matter of fact, we purposely broke out the days to have the car show guys in and out on the weekend, and the die hard track guys on MOn/Tues, so they could make better use of the time with their preferred events.

When you register, you get the Defensive Driving course included (that's Sunday) and it is required for the other track events. Check out and download the registration packet off of the site, and pick n' choose what you want to participate in.

You will have to become a MBCA member to participate (for our insurance), but I can get you hooked up, if you're not already a member.
