Alsrac,
Thanks for making and organizing this thread. Seems like we have so much creativity that we may have accidentally stepped on each other's toes. I hope not. If anyone has had their feeling hurt, I want to assure you that it was unintentional. Unless I did it, then I meant to.
Here is my 2 cents on the cards:
The purpose of the cards is to hand them out, ultimately leading to growth in our club.
A secondary purpose would be to identify ourselves at meetings, by using them as a nametag.
Alsrac, Sr. Swatch and Smark have all made cards that look good and will be well accepted. I don't think it much matters WHICH card gets handed out. And in the event that a newcomer gets, say an Alsrac card, and then a few weeks later a Sr. Swatch card, and then still later, he/she gets a Smark card, well, they will join us to keep from getting any more!
Having said all that, it WOULD be nice if we were united in our efforts. But I do not want to crush creativity and initiative. Hopefully, by this time next year, WHEN WE HOST THE NATIONAL RALLY (maybe), we will be united and will all be on the same page. Till then, gentlemen, HAND OUT YOUR CARDS!
Now, a long time ago (last year), right after my first encounter with you goons, I suggested we use our SCOA forum avatars (enlarged a bit) as nametags for meetings. By this I mean the little cartoonish Smarts that some of us had made. Color would be right, posting name would be right there, the only thing missing would be our actual name. Obviously, for those of you who don't use those avatars, you could still get them for name tags (they were free). This would let everyone know who everyone was, and it would let people connect forum names with human faces and the appropriate Smart car.
I still like this idea, but I acknowledge the fact that I will never get this done. Don't have the know-how or equipment to do it. So, if this idea resonates with anyone, and YOU have the time and smarts to get it done, feel free to do so! If not, well, life will go on.
Again, THANKS and a big tip of the cap to Alsrac for all the work you've done for our club. Keep it up!
Smiles and squirrel I mean cat I mean CHICKEN,
Terry
