Ok guys here is a list of the different types of restaurants we have in town, it's time to vote and then when we decide the cuisine I'll put the restaurant's name to vote again:
1. Mexican
2. Subs
3. Chinese
4. BBQ
5. Pizza
and of course:
6. American, that includes any brand of burgers, Applebee's and Golden Corral (buffet)
Note: Our vote is against mexican food it might sound weird, but this so-called mexican food is not authentic mexican food for us.
But remember this will be a democratic election, the polls are open let's vote!!!

You're right Smark, the translation should be barbacoa, but in real life it's completely different BBQ and barbacoa.
The BBQ's name is: Bobby D's BBQ, there are more but we haven't go, so we can't recommend any other, besides, Bobby D's is in Downtown Emporia.

We meet once a month to have fun, meet maybe new owners, eat somewhere, enjoy our cars and cruise around, this is just the second meeting outside Kansas City, we have had at least 6 meetings in KC, I'm pretty sure the december meeting will be in KC, you are welcome to join us in this next meeting in Emporia if you don't have your Smart yet, bring your Viper, if you are lucky you'll see your car's green brother!!

Ok guys, now it's time to determine the time you'll be coming so we can meet somewhere. The BBQ place opens at 11 am, we can cruise around this little town and go to the zoo, , the Bird Bridge, as Andy suggested, the Veteran's Memorial (Emporia is the founding city of this important holiday) but most important you guys get off of the city routine and come to this quiet town.

Attention Don: This is the perfect opportunity to visit your kids in Hartford and come to the meeting!!!

Earth to Terry!!!! Where are you??
Everybody!!!

Greetings Smartians!

Sorry I wasn't responding, but I went to the Nellis Air Force Base outside Las Vegas to see/shoot the Air Force's annual Airshow. This is off thread but it was AWESOME!!! Took around 4 to 5,000 pics! Got blisters so bad I can't wear shoes! (Sandals work OK but are a tad wet and cold...) (Never said I was Smart!)

Anyway, I'm IN on the trip to Emporia on the 22nd! But just to clarify, let me see if I understand what we're doing: We're all going to Alfonzo's house for BBQ, and then Lula is going to have the baby. Is that right? Cool!

Here's what I will do: I WON'T promise to post any pictures anytime soon. And I WON'T attempt to organize our Emporia activities (Alfonzo, Lula and Andy are doing that. Right?) But I WILL contact ALL the people who were at the Halloween party with this info.

As for December, meh! Andy, I know the event could be put together but I don't think I'm going to have the time. I'm not bailing on the idea, but I know December! It's a sneaky month!

For those wondering what we're talking about, here's the idea: Wouldn't it be great to set up a photo-shoot of say, 8 Smarts, each with antlers, paired up in a line (4 x 2 cars), with REINS strung over them (think reindeer in a harness), all coming back to a Big Red Humvee, with Santa sitting on top holding the reins. This wouldn't be hard to do IF we had Antlers, Reins, a Red Humvee, a Santa and PERMISSION! All I have is a car, a camera and the idea. If any of you know where to source the other stuff SCREAM OUT! Otherwise, I'm doubtful.

I'll leave it to others to select a time for the 22nd. Anytime works for me. And BBQ is fine, too. Now, I'm going to send out emails to everyone not already in this conversation, upload a few thousand pics, begin the task of sorting them and then GO TO BED EARLY. HA HA HA!

I'm gonna have fun, even if it kills me!

Terry
