Sometimes, being from another planet (Gladstone) has its advantages. While creating the email for 'the rest of the gang,' I examined, really Examined the link to our meeting point (Target at 119th and I-35). Discovered that it was REALLY at Target PRODUCTS, not store, and it was on the wrong side of I-35.

Now, everyone who lives out that way would realize the difference. But me, trying to recreate the path for 'the rest of the gang' was baffled till I figured it out! In case it matters to anyone anywhere, the actual address for Target Store is 15345 W. 119th St. NOT 17400 W. 119th St. You say BFD, I say Wrong Way Off The Exit!

When I Mapquested Target on 119th St., I got 7 different returns, so this was an easy boo-boo and no one need spank, shoot or ostracize the dirty, rotten scoundrel who did it, nor should that ugly bag-of-antlers apologize for a simple and honest mistake. We've all done worse. A LOT worse!

But now you have the correct address... WAIT! Duh!! I just figured it out! This was a ploy to have ME go to Target Products while the rest of you met at Target Store!!! Andy, you're a devious one alright! Almost had me! You THINK you know someone and then you find out the sorry truth...

I remain committed to meeting at Target STORE at 10:30.

OK Terry, you caught me.... I have been secretly PMing everyone else the correct time and location of the meeting places .... No really guys I was not aware of the map being wrong, but I was at work and trying to get it done as fast as I could on my lunch break. Well I punched it in this time with the Super Target address in there and this is the new map. I am OK with meeting at 10:30AM just as long as we leave no later then 11:00AM. That should give us plenty of time to catch any stragglers. Alfonso, if you were to meet us in Emporia and lead us to the restaurant where would you want to meet? Again feel free to let me know any of your thoughts.

P.S. Forget the part in the directions where it has us doing a U turn. I tried to get rid of it but it just sent us further and further off the beaten path. Again just another one of those mapquest quarks.

meet at 10:30, giving some time for any stragglers and leaving for Emporia no later then 11:00. As long as we have everyone that we are supposed to be meeting we can leave earlier. Terry, if you would not mind keeping track of you contacts.

Hi guys, we could meet at the exit 133, when you turn left you'll see a gas station on the right side, we'll be there and then go to the restaurant that is a few blocks away.
The other smart owner wrote me back saying that they will try to be there, so keep fingers crossed.

HELLO Fellow Smartians!

As promised, here is info about our club's upcoming adventure.

What: A drive to Emporia Kansas, lunch, sightseeing and a meeting to plan December's activity.

Why: For fun! It will be an adventure to go see club members Alfonso and Lula who live there. Also, we now have club T-shirts available, and they are in Emporia.

When: Saturday, November 22.

Time: choice -- meet up with the KC crew who will wagon-train together, or just meet us in Emporia (details below).

Where / When: for KC Crew, Target parking lot, 119th and I-35 (15345 W. 119th St.) at 10:30 am. For those meeting us in Emporia, Bobby D's Merchant Street BBQ, 607 Merchant St., Emporia, at Noonish.

What will happen: The tentative itinerary for the trip is as follows: Meet at Target, wait for stragglers. Leave Target no later than 10:45. Drive to Emporia (it's about 90 miles and will take less than hour and a half. Arrive at Bobby D's for lunch. Eat and then have our planning meeting. The meeting itself should take no more than 30 minutes, possibly less. Then under the auspices of Alfonso and Lula (they live there, remember), we plan to visit whatever the group agrees to. Could be the zoo, the Bird Bridge (?), the Veterans' Memorial or something not yet mentioned. Typically, we go to various places, park prominently, get out and explore for a short while. PLENTY of pictures get taken! Then it's off to the next place.

We now have a club T-shirt! You can find pics here on this thread. They are $25 and (I think) are available in any size as well as short sleeve. If you are interested in one, email ALSRAC on this forum.

We don't have an end-time for this trip planned, but given the distance, we will probably end well before dark. Everyone is free to come and go as they choose, but I suspect there will be a wagon-train back to KC, in case you want come with us.

Please respond to this and let me know if you will be planning to attend or not. This way we will know who we need to wait for Saturday morning.

Quick update on responses...

I sent out a total of 31 emails either to folks at the Halloween party or to participants from an earlier era.

So far I have gotten back 4 Nos and 1 Maybe.

I saw that the weather should be nice on Saturday.
