Really cool, I'd probably let my wife win too. Looks like a lot of fun.

We were shifting all the time, now I regret I didn't let the car shift for us at least once.

There are lot's of little tricks to ik out a little more out of any car, should be fun to see how much time can be shaved by using them.
#1 would be to put the car on a diet. Run the fuel tank really low, remove any thing you can to save weight, things like emergency tire repair kit, cargo cover, floor mats, etc.
#2 others could be pumping up the tire pressures to 50 PSI to reduce rolling resitance, using unleaded race fuel might bump up the timing a little and make more power, performance muffler, clean up the exhaust mannifold or build a header, intake, etc.
#3 other things like NOS, turbos, or motorcycle engines for those who really get sick.

The first two should help a little but the smart will still be very slow.

I used to have fun in Tenn at a 1/8 mile track. Was based on fastest times and closest to your fastest time without going over if you won. You could actually win a trophy or some cash. Was pretty fun.
