SMART Center of Merriam Anniversary Bash

On the 21 of March, the SMART Center of Merriam will be having there one year anniversary party. The event starts around 11:00 to 11:30 and will continue till around 3:00. There will be hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill, a quick tech/service session, games and trivia for all to enjoy. This is an open invitation to all the present and future smart owners. For those that would like to join us afterwords there will more then likely be a little drive and some comradely with the MO-KAN smart car club members. We will also be there to talk to anyone interested in joining our local club. We do not ask for much except for the love and enthusiasm for the smart car.

Count us in!! Hopefully we can break our own record assistance, last July we had 22 cars, let's break that!!

There were a lot of cars at the Halloween party. Some were park out side, not dressed up.

You're right Smark, there were lot of cars, but I couldn't count them, dressing the car, having guests, hopefully I can count them this time.

... plus SOME of the cars' disguises were soooo incredible, no one (especially the judges) knew they were cars!

Andy, might the flyers you had at WOW be applicable to hand out? I TRULY want to have a "For more information contact..." line on there. Maybe I'm a marketing guy

, but this seems like the *PERFECT* time to recruit new members.

Will we have time for a club meeting, either during or perhaps after, when we have a cruise? I want to discuss the 'conflict' between THIS forum and the Insider forum. We're losing people to it (or at least we're not getting those who join there). Nothing wrong with the Insider forum, it's just not where WE are (well, except for ALSRAC: he's a double agent!

).

What is our role in this event?

Joe Said, that they should be sending out notices to all the present and future smart owners some time this week. I know that he also wants us to set up shop and do some recruiting for the club. Who would you like me to add as the contact for the club? Let me know if there are any volunteers.

Lets start thinking of where we would like to cruise to this time. Maybe Shawnee Mission Park or The Legends.... maybe Terry you could get us access to the Speedway and we can do some hot laps

I also set up a club for the MO-KAN smart car club on the insider but I never remember to check it. I will look after a while and see if anyone has joined there.

Methinks we need a real, live website for our club.

If we had that, we could easily have a Contact page with non-descript email addresses like "info at mokansmartcarclub dot com. I don't mind being a contact, but I don't want to give out my email address to strangers.

I think I will start a new thread exploring a dedicated website for us. Surely SOMEONE will be interested in helping to put one together, especially if we all pitch in with the text, pictures (don't start with me!) and ideas.
