Finally got notice a week or so ago that my Smart was in port and would probably be available last week of May. Phone call to Aristocrat Motors in KC confirmed it but they still couldn't give me any delivery date. Can anyone who has gotten one through Aristocrat give me any idea of the time frame from arrival at port to arrival at KC?? I know this probably varies somewhat from one shipment to the next, but what have others experienced? I'm getting a little antsy because I have a trip to colorado planned for the end of June and was really counting on having it by then.
From arrival at port (customs) the car goes through the Smart Car Vehicle Preparation Center (Mercedes VPC, from my understanding). It goes through a very through check before it is shipped to the dealer. I am guessing 1 week at the VPC then scheduled for transport, 2 weeks from arrival at port would make sense.
My car arrived in port May 26 and I picked it up from Aristocrat June 5.
Details:
Aristocrat notified me about 2 weeks ahead of time that my car would be in port on the 26th, then they confirmed that it did so.
On June 2 (one week later), they notified me that it should be in KC within a week. On June 3, they said it was HERE! We agreed I would pick it up on the 5th, which I did.
