I ended up just doing a couple hours of scenic driving around the lake area. It was beautiful weather, and the drive was fun. Except at one point, my ESP light came on, which freaked me out. I stopped and restarted the engine and it went off. BTW: first tank = 38 mpg.
On Tuesday, though, the car wouldn't start. It was giving me a transmission error, and I ended up having to have it towed to the dealership in Buffalo. They had to put in a new shifting mechanism, and I get it back today. This experience has tarnished my love affair with smart, I have to admit. I didn't expect any problems in the first year or two, let alone after 1 week and 300 miles.
