I saw one a blue/black at the Babylon Post Office earlier this week.

Last night around 7:50p on 25a, literally, right in front of the Smithtown smart Center.... as I was waiting to cross the westbound lane to start heading east, saw a blue smartie heading east at a decent clip... tried to catch up and did, but it obviously took a long time. Caught up exactly at the point where I fork right to head south... I beeped but could not see or hear if they responded in kind or with a wave.

Then, at about 8:05p, heading south on Old Nichols Road, on the south side of the LIE saw what I think was a red smartie )for some reason, I do not recall the color). Driver of other car was waving furiously as I clicked my lights, and then I beeped and we continued going our own different ways, spreading happiness and smile across Suffolk County*.

*As I got close to home, a man and his wife were taking a walk. When I stopped at a STOP sign near them, I knew they were talking about the car, so I lowered my window and playfully said "Don't be laughing at my car... and don't even THINK about calling it cute, because that's what every guy wants to hear...". And the husband smiled and nodded and she yelled over that that was exactly what she said. I laughed, they laughed. All was well.

I see alot of what I call "regulars". the everyday going to work sightings. Heathere, is one of them, a Yellow one. we are always going in opposite direction on Rte 111/Carleton Ave. Also, there's a dude with a red cabrio, same thing.

oh, and BTW, if you're up in Smithtown, gimmie a call ya bastard, I always have fresh Hefe-weizen on hand.

He he, yes I've seen the red/black one as well, it's a cabrio

I also saw my first other bumblebee in the wild last weekend parked at the Loews theater in Stonybrook last Saturday as I was coming out to get into mine. I nearly walked to the wrong car! :P Oh, and another red/black occasionally on the LIE service road and going north onto Rt 111 as I'm turning south. We're out there! I've a couple of co-workers who tell me everytime they see one too.

red cabrio Sunday 7/13 at the Deli in Kings Park, and a black cabrio today (7/14) northbound on Rte 111 near Hauppauge.

Blue/silver in Hicksville around 7:10am last Thursday. Have also seen a Red Cabrio on Jericho Tpke in Woodbury.

Everyone tells me there is another yellow in Levittown...

I saw a really cool looking wrapped smart at 347 and 25 Friday afternoon at about 5:15pm. I couldn't get a good enough look (I *was* driving) to see what they were advertising, it was a sort of green/white checker print type design.

And a bruiser cabrio Thursday morning on the LIE service road at Rt 111. Owner was startled when I honked and waved but waved back!

I grew up in Bethpage, but now live in Schenectady, NY.
This weekend, I drove my smart to visit my family down there.
I drove about 70 miles to various LI destinations while there and didn't see ANY smarts.

I drove around with many of my family members. They were blown away by how many conversations I had with people at stoplights, parking lots, even one mile long conversation with a Jaguar owner while moving on Old Country Road between Plainview and Hicksville. It was hillarious.
