Missing Reserved Smart??

So, I've a bit of a quandry. The DDE says my smart is in. It has said so for at least two weeks. I got no 30 days warning call from Smithtown. I got no call that the car was in. I've tried following up with Smithtown, but they apparently have no record of my car. I've called the 800 number twice now and "a supervisor will look into it and get back to you by the end of the day". And you guessed it, no getting back to me. Smithtown says it could have ended up anywhere, they sometimes get cars in with no info. Has anyone else heard of this? Anyone have any suggestions other than snail mail for smart HQ? (My next route...) I've got a very patient and understanding buyer for my current bee, but there are limits!

How does your DDE say that your smart is in? It is just a 90 day window in which your delivery should occur....and the track record is about 4 - 5 weeks after the start date. So whats the beginning date of your DDE?

Hi SmartCard,
It used to have a range of 5/25-8/25, but a little over two weeks ago it changed to "delivered". I wish!

Well folks, the plot is thickening, drastically. I'm going to hold off on full details until I recieve some sort of resolution, but the short of it is that "my" smart was sold, and not even offered to me.

A dealer neglecting to offer a reserved car to its proper reserver due to a previous orphan purchase by same reserver??

"heathere3".....SOMEONE at smartusa or your dealer had better come up with a car, and fast! do they not know the meaning of 'reservation'?

like Jerry Seinfeld said: "You know how to TAKE the reservation, you just down know how to HOLD the reservation. the HOLDING of the reservation is the most important part!!!!"

I'd be pretty pee'd off if a dealer sold my special ordered car because I orphaned a car to pacify me for the next 8 months during my wait.

I hope that's not the case.

I have heard of cars going to the wrong dealership. That's what my orphan was but they found the owner - he turned it down.
