2.0 Upgrade

Laguna Niguel called today while I was out to let me know to schedule my 2.0 upgrade. I ended up making the appointment at Cerritos because they are closer to where I live. This will be my first experience with Cerritos as a customer. I wanted to wait until the weather cools off a little, so I'm not going in until Thursday morning. Based on the options on my car, I presume I will not get the new battery. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

I just got mine last week at cerritos as well. I think the new battery is required for the update.

Isn't the new battery only if you have the factory alarm and/or comfort package? Something like that?

Well I don't have the factory alarm and honestly am not sure if I have the comfort package (we barely drive the smart). You could be right though...

If I have time, I'll check the window sticker and see if we have it.

Yep, the bigger battery is only if you have extra features that constantly draw power. My smart has the alarm and received the battery upgrade when I took it in for the 2.0.

I went this morning for my scheduled appointment. Unfortunately, the service technician that does the upgrades called in sick. The folks in the showroom weren't told until after I got there. Not that big a deal, as the dealership is a fairly short drive for me. I have rescheduled for next Tuesday.

Had the upgrade done today. They also fixed a problem with the auto-locking door feature while it was there. You can hang out at the Cerritos Mall while they work on your car, which is what I did since I didn't have to be anywhere else. Thanks to Alfie and Brenda for taking care of me today!
