At 6'2", with long legs, I have only ever had one vehicle where I didn't put the seat all the way back, and if available, reclined the seat a bit, too (long arms, as well. No gorilla jokes, please). In every car I ever owned, I have had problems when the light is mounted high, in the middle of the intersection - I have to hunch over the steering wheel to see the lights. I did just get the LightinSight do-dad and mounted it up. Works great!
For all you people out there that don't have problems with seeing traffic lights, consider yourself lucky. But for those that DO have the problem, and a bad back, as well, this is MUCH cheaper than a physical therapist...

Can't you just look through the roof?

At times, I can look through the sunroof, but more often the light is positioned where I have to hunch over the steering wheel to see it. This way, I don't have to move at all, don't have to slide the sunroof curtain back - I just look up/out the top of the windshield.

At 6'3", I've had the SAME problem. Here's my solution, and it works great! LightInSight - Windshield Mounted Traffic Light Lens
You could also go to the RV section of Walmart, Camping World, or any place that sells the flexible, self-stick fresnel lens material, and cut your own. The one I bought is pretty small, but shaped just right, and does the job!!

Good product

I've had one in my Smart for the last 5-6 months. My wife (who's only 5'2" tall) recently noticed it was there and promptly had me order one for the Mini too. It seems to help those more vertically challenged as well.
