I was thinking about getting on the orphan list, how long did you have to wait? I reserved mine in January and the DDE tells me I should have my car around OCT of 09' that's to long of a wait!!
The waiting time for an orphan is VERY dependant. I'm told that some people are very specific about what they want, and will pass on cars that don't meet their criteria...in this case, the wait time could be long. Others are more open to options...the wait time could be less.
I'd suggest you talk to the dealer, put your name on the list. It doesn't commit you to anything and there's a good chance you'll get a car sooner.
I like the D3. The navigation is nice, easy to enter addresses and such. The radio seems to work fine.
Mine came with the BTB200 bluetooth module. This device won't pair with my phone...so it kind of sucks.
The other thing I don't like is the lack of a power button, or at least a mute button. To mute the audio, you have to press the volume control and hold it for what seems like forever (probably only 3-4 seconds). I find this frustrating when trying to mute the audio and answer the phone at the same time. Of course, if the bluetooth module worked with my phone I wouldn't have to worry about it.
i was on the list since march 08, went to the dealer ship and told them "the first guy that does not call you back when his car is in, CALL ME"; three days later i had my car, LOVE IT, already changed the exhaust, Air filter & Air Intake (evil twin) and i am looking for 17' wheels right now
I put my name on the list in January with no specifics. I have been in several times and asked about the list and was told each sales person has their own list, but they are not selling any orphans... It just depends on how long you will be on the list...
how long ago did you get your car, I was in there last week and they were waiting for some more cars and they did not know yet if there would be any orphans...
SMRT POD, I picked up my car on 5/31. They said they called about 10 people on the list without a sale. I just showed up at the right time and the sold it to me.
