Less than 50 miles to go for break-in...

...and I haven't decided yet where I'm going to drive it today to do it! Hopefully I'll be some place where I can pull over and take a picture...

There's a gathering in San Diego today if that works for you.

I actually checked on that yesterday, but it looked like they had enough cars already...

The drive down to San Diego can actually be quite nice, IF there's no traffic...

Milage improved after break in for me

Congratulations! I'll bet you'll start seeing improved mileage too for the next 1500 or so miles. Providing, of course, that you aren't now going to drive it like a hot rod all the time....

The car has been driven in Auto Mode 99.9%. I'm planning to keep it that way for the most part. I'll throw it into manual if I need a power boost, such as going up a freeway onramp or getting up a steeper hill. It's amazing how well I've adapted to not using a lead foot...

Okay, so I did it a little earlier this evening. For a picture of the dash, see my Smart Car Blog:

It was dark out, and a really boring part of town, so I didn't bother to take pictures of the scenary around me...

Now you can really get into it! You may notice a mpg decrease with more throttle. BTW, pretty good photo for a handheld iPhone.

I am planning an outing this evening that will be on the freeway. It will be nice to not have to worry anymore about varying the speed. That's the part I was looking forward to the most...
