Armrest - low budget, high quality details

Many owners are looking for a great armrest for the Smart Car. Here are a few details of how our armrest is made.

First, SmartCar Performance utilizes only top quality and dedicated professionals to help manufacture our products. Our upholsterer has over 35 years of experience. His company, located in Southern California, specializes in auto upholstery. Our fabricator, who is located in Southern California as well, has had well over 30 years of experience bringing together ideas and design to form a high quality finished product. Ultimately, bringing together all of this expertise, we wanted to manufacture an affordable, comfortable armrest for the smart car.

While designing the armrest, we took note of other armrests already in the marketplace. The existing armrests tended to be too low, forcing the driver to lean to the right instead of remaining comfortably upright. In response to this, we designed our armrest so that it is as close to the height of the door "armrest" as possible. In doing so, the driver can remain comfortable while driving with either hand. In addition, the armrest can be adjusted down a notch if the original height is too high.

Functionally, the armrest works great, and installation is easy as well. Only 2 bolts and no fancy tools required.

In addition, we have been receiving requests for custom colors and materials. Due to these requests we have decided to offer custom options for our armrest. Call us or send us an email with your ideas for adding a personal touch to the interior of your smart car.

At 159 less 15 percent this is a screaming deal. We love ours, very sturdy, comfortable, an plenty of room for driver and passenger. Costs little more than those "cardboard ones" that mount to the floor. We couldn't go back to driving without it.

I guess that custom colors would be nice, but I really like the way that this perfectly matches the color of my leather seats, and it looks like real leather, except a little softer than the seats, which is great. It's truly a really nice armrest, and a great addition to the car!

Many Thanks!! We are currently working on a few custom colors. We are doing one right now with a carbon fiber texture. It will look really unique when we are done. We will definitely post pics when it is completed.
