Beautiful Rear Window Handle

Beautiful Rear Window Handle

Beautiful new rear window grab handle for the 451 smart car. Metal lipped backing with adhesive makes this a very secure grab handle that looks as good as it functions. Comes in black only and is designed for the coupes of course. $48.00 SHIPPED!. Please call Paul at 512-592-4965 if you'd like one. Thanks.

Thanks Paul. Off topic but have you seen any sort of device to hold the glass hatch open a couple of inches (for better ventilation)?

Would you get better ventilation with the rear window slightly open? While the negative pressure on the back end would tend to pull air through the cabin, the same pressure issue draws exhaust into that back well of air. The smell of fumes doesn't tend to enhance my driving experience.

Could be, but the same sort of device is available for Corvette coupes and nobody's died yet. Still looking.

Only those trunk extender straps I've seen at auto parts stores. The ones that allow one to keep the trunk down even when loaded cargo doesn't allow it to shut. I don't know if it could apply to the smart car. I'd be afraid of fumes though coming back into the cabin.

that is a great idea! that will let the carbon monoxide fumes right into your cabin... don't worry about it though, before you actually die! you will slip into a peaceful comma......:idiot :

Back on topic.... Paul, I like the idea of the lip, but am wondering how snugly it grabs the glass. One still has to be able to peel off the tape covering and slip it up on the glass. How do you do that if it's a snug fit?

Instructions state to install at a 45 degree angle hooking under the glass, make sure it's seated and then pivot it onto the glass. As a B-777 Captain crab landing a 330,000lb aircraft during cross winds I doubt you'll have any problems.
