To mount the lic plate just drill a hole through the bar and mount the plate to it.

YES, there is always that. but I was thinking of a more professional looking one in an after market bumper. I wouldn't want to drill holes and mount a license on a bumper, and make my license plates a possible point of impact. I also like the idea of an "unbroken" horozinal bar bumper.

I was thinking that you could weld an angled arm on the left side insert that goes in the existing "tow hook" opening, and to that attach a frame that would hold the license, much in the same position as the "holess" frame that you can purchase. heck, it would only require you to mod one piece of what is probably a three piece bumper. You could sell it either way! My state requires a front plate, but some do not.

I think that would be a nice option. Regardless though, I don't put front license plates on any of my cars

Well, that's your decision. but it IS a state law.

V.C. Section 11713.17 - Front License Plate Bracket

and this:

V.C. Section 5200 - Display of License Plates

Not displaying a front plate on a vehicle would also allow the police to stop you. (and issue a ticket)

Both just an FYI.

I personally would not want the hassel, nor the ticket.

Trust me, I know just well it is a state law. I'm not drilling into the front bumpers on my cars. I've never been pulled over for it and I know many people don't put front license plates on. No need to link me to the state law...

If you weld it on one side it would not be in the center. You would need it to be welded in the center.

True, but the one that uses the tow hook hole is off center. I DID read the links I quoted in a previous post. It Dosn't really say the plate holder has to be centered, just that it needs to be displayed.

I really like the look of your front and back bumpers and am going to get a set. What I was thinking is that you might offer a "modification that could be added to hold a plate. And it dosn't need to be centered. It could be offset. I have seen a lot of different vehicles with offset plates. As long as they are displayed. Heck, even some sort of clamp to the part the bolts into the frame, and allows for a little adjustment. (and I REALLY don't want to drill into them)

Since I am getting some customized plates, I want to display them both front and rear.

Thanks for the reply Ernie.
