1.5 inches.

We can make a plate adapter to fit in the bolt hole on one end but the question is do you want it on one end or do you want it in the center.

If it is in the center the bar would have 2 small holes about 3 inches apart and they would be threaded to accept our lic plate bracket.

Which do you prefer?

How about using a couple clamps like these to attach the license plate holder to the bumper.

Ernie, thanks for your time. I personally would want the holder on one side, (as you look at the front of the car, on the left) as I would not want the horozional line of the bumper to be broken. (I want the front and back bumper to match) I would NOT want to drill into the bumper itself.

And as long as it was behind the plane of the front bumper, and slightly higher, I think it would look good. The whole idea is to have the plate mounted in a way to display it, but still protect it somewhat if someone "taps" your bumper in a parking lot. (or you accidently run into a barrier) I have see a number of cars that the plate is mounted in a way that it is protected from impact. Of course, I have also seen some cars taht the opposite is true. (and have seen some mangled plates! HA!)

Like I posted previously, this mod could simply be an add on to your bumper products, for those that want/need a front bumper mount and dont want it drilled into the car itself!

Thanks for considering the change!

Licence plate bracket

If you remember when cars (British sports cars especially) had badge bars there are mounting brackets which go around the bar and then squeeze tight with a bolt, which passes through the hole in the whatever you are trying to mount - see this site at the bottom of the page
badge bars badges | GB plates | chrome tyre valve covers | badge bars | classic car accessories | jaguar emblem | leaper | leaping jaguar | big cat | jaguar bonnet emblem |

Dang!
Thats exactly what I was trying to do myself.

I already had the NO-HOLE PLATE, but was reluctant to buy the bumper.
Lets get one quick and its off to the sales rise!
