That's not the Denso iridium plug in your picture; it's the stock plug. Are you really going to sell the iridium plug for 6 bucks?

And I hate to tell you this, but that NGK isn't for the smart either. Just compare to the Denso, the hex is too big, and it's way to short.

NGK does list correct plugs for the twin-plug Suprex (450/452), but that is all.

Denso Iridium Power

Everyone,

I have edited my original post. I apologize for the confusion.

NGK does not have a compatible sparkplug for the smart. We looked at the measurements and it was about 7mm too long.

DENSO - stock - We have those in stock today if anyone is interested. Just for your information the stock sparkplug by Denso is also made of Iridium. The Iridium power has more Iridium and has a higher heat tolerance.

DENSO - Iridium power - We will have these in stock tomorrow for those who are interested. Our price will be $11.50 - shipped. We guarantee the lowest prices, so we will do a price match for you.

Also, if you wait for tomorrow, we will be having a big sale for the month of October. Announcement will be made today.

Let me know now through the forum or email me at smartcar.performance@gmail.com if you are interested. You can also call us at 951-532-7939

Don't claim to be a sparkplug expert, but if the stock plug is Iridium and not due for a change until a minimum of 30K miles, what's the advantage of changing to another Iridium plug sooner?

I appreciate your response. I am not trying to claim to be a sparkplug expert. I am simply trying to provide the community with sparkplugs at a decent price.

The advantage of changing your sparkplugs sooner would be for those who have made modifications to their car. The technical details of the advantages can be found here:

I wonder if the OEM Denso is a "proprietary" plug supplied exclusively to Mitsu for the 3B2x engines (it does have some extreme dimensions). If so, I can see Denso not being anxious to manufacture an aftermarket Iridium.

I have been watching NGK for a long time, and despite of their familiarity with the smart Suprex, they seem in no hurry provide a 451 plug of any type.
