Front Spring Spacers to raise the front end to safe height after installing Lowering

Smart Lowering Spring Spacers
Want to install your tighter lowering springs but do not want to drop the front end to low, here is your solution, Breathless Performance Front End Spring Spacers. They raise you 3/4 of an inch for a level height front to rear. That way the front end does not bottom out on hard bumps.
This way you have the same spring rate matched for the front and the rear giving you a stable ride.
Aftermarket springs tend to drop the back end perfect but drop the front too low, when you hit a hard bump the shock compresses into itself causes a hard jolt and later in time could damage the shock.

There are many members on this forum that have the lowering performance springs in the rear but do not want them in the front due to the front end dropping so low would cause a harsh ride if you hit any kind of bump (I was one of them that had it lowered all the way around and it hit really hard on bumps to the point that it collapsed the shock and blew the oil out).

Remember the shock is a certain length and has a certain collapse range and as you lower the car you are getting less travel on the shock and actually hitting the bump stop on the shock on hard bumps. With those that have the lowered shocks all the way around try pushing the front end down and you will find about an inch of travel only.
That being said the customers that did not want that problem only replaced the rear springs and left the front along.. BIG PROBLEM, the spring kits are designed to work together front and rear and have specific spring rates and by using stock on the front and stiffer lower springs on the rear the car is mis-balanced. The solution is to raise the front slightly.
1. More level ride height front to rear
2. More travel of the shock for a smoother ride
3. Less chance of collapsing the shock (Non warranty issue and you pay the bill of about 600.00)
4. Car is balance perfectly to handle correctly with the correct spring rates.

Just so you guys know, even if you have a stock smart you could see that the rear end is proped up so much higher then the front, this personally is out of my taste. Starlord has lorsinser wheels on his with lowering springs and it's the same result, visually the rear is higher then the front but with the lowering springs the rear look "just right" compared to the front.

So with these spacers you get the same handling that the lowering springs were made for but the spacers compensate for the "too low front" end and makes it look level all the way around.

Well Said.

Good to see a new product that permits new options if carefully considered but let's not be making the car unsafe "just for looks!" Anytime you change springs&shocks, lower or raise the car, swap tires and wheels, etc. the handling dynamics also change.

The smart car's geometry has been engineered with considerable understeer as a safety measure. This is not, to coin a phrase, "your father's Oldsmobile".

Just a note of caution, then. Suspension geometry should be modified professionally, setting up your car with proper F/R weight distribution and carefully corner balanced for safety and the performance you require and can handle.

That is why you need to change both the front and the rear springs as a package to mach each others spring rates.
