As for the problem that happened in the above mentioned link with the bracket breaking and allowing alot of unfiltered air into the throttle body, that's 1 part manufacturer, one part not using the vibration isolator included with the model, and the last part Owner not inspecting his/her engine compartment. Doesn't anyone check their oil every few fill ups anymore? At that point, you'd do a quick visual inspection of the engine bay.
I'm not that old, but my love of old cars has taught me to check the fluids and engine bay every few fill ups no matter what car i have. Alot of folks are used to buying the car and taking it in to the shop when the little light tells you too. Let's be proactive and not expect our cars to go go go till the 10,000 mile check engine light turns on.
