You'd be suprised what you can find if you look long and hard enough. I just picked up a set of 8 spark plug coils for my Expedition, list price is around $100 each, I picked up all 8 for a total of $23!!! net savings of $777 !!!

Got my '86 GMC Jimmy for $600. Latest blue book price is over $7,000 now....The deals are out there you just have to know what you are looking for and keep your eyes open.

NADA lists a 1986 S15 GMC Jimmy at average retail of 5,600 High retail at 7,200 Why, I don't know. Maybe there is a big demand for them again. The body has been redone (new metal) and the interior is great (except for th headliner sagging) runs great. good tires, needs a windshield but that is only 125 bucks... Still sitting tarped in the back yard under the pine tree..... I take it out once and awhile just for fun. You wouldn't believe how much snow and mud that thing wil go through!!

Actually, over 12K and only one airbag blew. Minor damage to the Tridion, but those front end bits add up quick at retail plus labor. Probably more when we get it stripped. Until more smarts start showing up in wrecking yards, the repair costs will be high. Like any new car.

I bought the thing from the owner with Jason's kind help, and it will serve as an engineering mule to help us develop new products for smarts, and eventually go back on the road.

I agree, as it was always the prime parking spot for me to take my car in while seeking shade from the hot sun.
