Does anyone actually LIKE driving in the snow in their smart car?

I remember frantically searching the internet for reviews of winter driving in the smart car. While I didn't see any comments suggesting to stick the car in the garage for 4 months, there was plenty of caution and suggestions of buying snow tires.

I've only had the car since October, but I drove it through the Christmas snow storm in Minnesota and each storm since, including the latest dumping, and I LOVE driving it in the snow. I haven't been stuck once, the traction control is doing a really good job, the anti lock brakes are great and the heated seats are a must. I love bouncing around curves and driving through drifts that have built up (to a point, I do know what the clearance is of this car, though it isn't much lower then other cars out there).

Does anyone else actually look forward to driving in the snow?

I enjoy driving mine in the snow, but I will warn you, the stock Conti tires aren't the best in the snow new, and once you get below half tread, they flat out SUCK!

I'll have to remember that as I pass the pick-ups, vans and SUV's laying off the side of the highways and roads when I drive in the 20 inches of snow tomorrow.

My pick-up will stay in the garage.

I'm having a blast! But I also mounted up a new set of Bridgestone snow tires from Tire Rack ($39 a piece thank you very much!) on my extra full set of front wheels. I would probably not be out in this stuff on my original full set of rears with OEM tires. I can always fall back to the truck if it gets too deep but so far no issues and I don't have my drive plowed or shoveled. This morning I was out in some of the worst of it on the interstate and I was one of the few who were getting down the road at a reasonable clip. YEE HAA!! My concerns about being so lite and being able to cross over the snow mounds between lanes at speed without issue were unfounded or at least, I should say, the skinny snow tires really made the difference I was hoping for. Thank you Bridgestone and Tire Rack.

I have the same snow tires jwarner6 and as we get 8-10" more snow today, I've been out three times. It truly is fun and I am yet to be passed on the freeway.

Best winter car we have is the smart. Its the only one with all the new fangled computer controls to keep us on the road and out of trouble.

My Pick up truck never sees salt roads because I HATE driving it in the winter.

I will have to agree with the snow tires. Went through last winter with new stock tires and got by. With the Blizzaks this year its a Joy to drive in the winter

Did my commute to GreenBay and back today in the pure- 35 miles each way in a snow storm- had GREAT fun! The look on people's faces when they get passed in the snow by these lil' cars is priceless.
