How did everyone get around in the snow?

Well I went out right in the middle of the snow storm yesterday because I had to get the dogs out of the house for our appraisal. I pulled up to Wendys to get some lunch and the guy asked how I was getting around? I told him I have an SUV and it's sitting at home so that should say something.

Later that evening I went out again and this time got stuck down the street. The streets were unplowed and I had to get through 6-8" of snow. Even the Blizzaks couldn't dig in. In fact, two other FWD cars couldn't get through either because we had an incline.

Also one other hint:

If you're driving today and feel heavy vibration (the faster you go, the worse it gets), don't worry. It's not your alignment. It's not your tires. It's the snow packed inside your wheels. That acts as a weight and causes the wheel to be imbalanced. All you have to do is scrape the snow/ice out of wheels and it should be fixed.

I ended up pulling the fuse for the ESP I couldn't take it any longer. I could hardly get out of my work parking lot that was somewhat plowed. Once I disconnected ESP it wasn't to bad.

The car is super light and has a hard time making its own tracks and really wants to follow other tracks so it was a handful.

No snow for us in Iowa Today, maybe tomorrow. I cannot believe the blizzak's failed, even though 6-8 inches is pretty impressive of a threshold. I believe we will get some snow here tonight but only an inch.

With the Pirelli 190s it was "adequate" around town on plowed streets with snow/ice on the surface. Deeper stuff required some finesse; too much speed and the front end plowed toward the curb. ESP was an issue if the car was hung up on a bit of ice or hard snow - once the computer felt the tires start to spin it cut power, so "rocking" the car was not possible.

It was bad. The tires were spinning the whole time and the car didn't move an inch. With so much snow on the ground and the car being so light, I'm afraid even snow tires couldn't make this go up hill.

We were going to Best Buy because I had to get a computer part. We tried twice but couldn't make it out of the neighborhood street. So we turned around and took the Murano.
