The 2nd Minnesmarta 'meet and greet' is being planned now! The date is Sunday, July 13th - from 11 am to approx. 2 pm. Our starting point will be Wagner's Drive-In on Hwy. 7 in St. Louis Park where we will meet, greet, and eat. From there we will proceed to a smart cruise around Lake Calhoun and Lake Harriet ending at the Lake Harriet Bandshell at approx. 1:45 or so (stops and 'photo opps' to be determined).
I've arranged with the owners of Wagners to provide a few 'special treats' for all smart drivers and passengers in attendance! (...think rootbeer floats and discount food ) We'll be able to eat, talk shop, compare smart notes, etc. for 1 to 1-1/2 hours before heading to the lakes. Plan for a great double-park, classic drive-in experience.
I have also obtained some nice 'freebie giveaways' from the SCOA here that will be available to the first 15 confirmed smart attendees! :woohoo
As we wrap up our cruise around Lake Harriet, the plan is to be at the Bandshell shortly before 2 pm so that those interested can stick around for a nifty jazz music performance. I'm also working on 'possibly' getting us 10 reserved parking spots (2 deep makes enough room for 20 cars!) - but I haven't confirmed this detail yet. Stay tuned...

I'll have to check our calendar but we should be able to make it. I have done this ride on my Vespa many times and I love it, but it goes by so fast. Maybe I'll do two laps with the Smart!
