Minnesmarta's 'Tonka Tour

Wow! Great time folks! Please post all and any picts you like in the thread here. It was super meeting you all - what a great bunch of smart owners and family members!

For all the other chapters out there holding or wanting to hold a meet-n-greet, just do it! Fellow smart owners are a super lot for sure!

We had a very nice scenic tour around Lake Minnetonka (yes, of Tonka Toy namesake for those of you non-Minnesotan's wondering). We started in front of a sport store (good frontage exposure) - drove on to a brief stop in a round-a-bout in a neighborhood to showcase the smarts to a 'potential smart owner' graduate - and then on to a nice meet-n-greet at the classic Minnetonka Drive-In. We finished with a drive through to historic Excelsior in the middle of their annual "Art on the Lake" event (what better place than an art show for a bunch of art cars!).

Today is one of the most fun days I have had in a long time. Thanks everyone! I will also post pics tomorrow. Minnysmart, lets do it. Let me know if I can help out with planning it. Fred, did we wanna start at Wagners then cruise from there?

Hey Jeff,

Yes, the plan is to start at Wagner's Drive-In on Hwy. 7 in St. Louis Park for meet-n-greet and lunch/snacks. I'm thinking a start time of 11:00 am with a 'leave for the lakes' time around 12:15-12:30 pm. I think with that much time everyone can talk/eat/share/take picts at a leisurely pace and then still have time for a cruise down to the Minneapolis lakes.

I'll put together a route that will include a 1/2 circle around Calhoun and probably a full circle around Harriet ending at the bandshell - ending probably around 1:30-2:00. Perfect timing for the afternoon concerts that day:

Folks can stay for one or both concerts and make an afternoon of it (Late for Lunch is fun listening for everyone). One could even bring picnic fixin's if desired - we've done both over the years and it's a great way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon. If the weather ends up not cooperating, we could either just end there or cruise a bit more over to Uptown - downtown - you choose...
