This is my understanding on how they're dealing with orphans:

Bloomington gets a list of all the confirmed cars (not the reservations) that are coming to Minnesota. If someone backs out, it does down that list to everyone who ordered something similar. I don't know if there's a list for people beyond that, but Lynn took my preferences anyway as I'm still a long way out before confirmation.

Got mine in 45 Seconds!

Went to TC dealer seeking info.(my reserve # is 12XX) Got told there was a call list and they had 2 ready to go. I took won, the other was sold same day. It is not the 1 ordered but didn't care, its better. Drove it home today. Get your name on the list if you want a car now. Feel free to e-mail me with any questions,

Congrats! Can you post up what your dealer fees were? There is another thread for this.

Dealer Fees

Destination charge was $645.00. No hidden fees. Price on the sticker is the price you pay. Vary happy with the way this dealer handled everything.

I'm over in Eden Prairie and work in Golden Valley, so hopefully y'all will see me cruisin' around in my blue/silver passion soon. I can't find my reservation #, but I configured my car back on Nov. 21. The people at the dealer seem to think I should be hearing soon. But that means nothing to me at this point, and I don't want to get my hopes up.

WAIT! I just remembered I have my reservation sheet on a shelf in the dining room... 1190!!! On one hand I'm so excited... on the other hand, I feel like I picked too many options and am spending too much on this little guy... but, we'll see... I picked the gauges, alarm, fog lights, 5 speaker stereo, comfort package, and i think that's it. Part of me wants to skip that one and get a basic passion with alarm/fog lights/gauges and leave it at that... Last night, I went to the dealer and parked my 1995 Maxima next to the row of smarts... with the rear bumpers in line, the smart only made it to the drivers door on my car. PERFECT! )

Extra Features

If you order some of the extra features, it might be best to add on the extended warrantees. My Passion Coupe is loaded with almost everything and thats a lot to ask for such a small system.

If I get my smart, and end up not liking it after a few months, do you think I'll be able to sell it for what I've got invested in it? (ie MSRP+Del+tax, etc) $15590+645+1013 = $17248... Or more? or considerably less?

Resell

Had to say if you will get a good return on your money BUT, if the WOW factor means anything, i've had over 3 dozen people in just 3 days asking about it. Check eBay Motors and see what there going for there. I really like the standard option of auto or manual 5 speed shift. AND here's a plus, I took it out in the snow today and like the rear wheel drive much better than my front wheel drive Focus.

Hey Slime. Good to hear it's doing well in the snow! I think I'll like the car a lot. My main concern is the reliability. I've currently got a '95 Maxima that has 180000 miles on it and is trouble free.. I just can't stand how big it is. But it's hard to convince myself to get a car payment of around $300 to buy a car with unknown reliability and only a 2 year warranty when I've got an old free car with no trouble. Slime, what part of MN are you in?
