Orphans!

Anyone here have experience with Orphans from the Smart Bloomington Center? Hard to come by? Usually left without $$$$$ additions?

I got mine without any add ons. They are great to work with. I was on the orphan list for about 5 weeks before I got one. If you are open to color and options you can get one, just a matter of time. It helps to stay in contact , calling and/or stopping by.

Very good news to hear! Did they call you when the orphan came in or did you call every now and then and kept stopping back?

I receive emails from the Seattle area dealer periodically listing available orphans. It's an open bidding process, pick your orphan and respond within 24 hours. If you have the oldest reservation number - that car is yours. I've been on the orphan list since June and have found my "Smarty" (color. options, etc.) only once. Didn't get a call back from the dealer. BUMMER!

sorry to hear you didn't get 'the call' on that orphan, but what a great idea they have.

send out emails and the one with the oldest reservation that responds, WINS!

hope more smart centers are reading this......

I stopped in every now and then. I got the call the day after I dropped in. I told them I wanted yellow at first but at my last visit said I`d take any color as long as it was a Passion (non cabrio).

Anyone know the orphan list situation now. It seems like if there is a wait, it could be very short.

I never got a call, but I may have been taken off the list after I got my car (private party).

It should be pretty good. Here in Chicago, I pretty much walked in off the street and bought an orphan - I never had a reservation or anything.
